The Ram 1500 Rebel TRX Concept: What We Know So Far

In 2016 the CEO of FCA, Mike Manley, announced and debuted the Ram 1500 Rebel TRX concept at the Texas State Fair. The TRX will be branded as the ultimate off-roading Ram truck and is positioned as an integral piece in Ram's 5-year plan. We are told the truck should begin production before 2022. In the time since its announcement, however, not much has been publicized about Ram's progress. To keep you in the loop better, here is a list of what we know so far:

  1. 2016 Texas State Fair:Ram 1500 Rebel TRX concept unveiled with positive reception.

  2. Vehicle Features:Although it is not in mass-production yet, the Rebel TRX prototype featured 37-inch tires, 18-inch bead-lock wheels, an extended track with fenders, 2.5-inch King Racing Shocks, suede seats, and paddle shifters among other items.

  3. Power:Because production has not begun, not much is known about the exact mechanical makeup of the Ram 1500 Rebel TRX. It has been rumored, however, that the new truck will include a supercharged 6.2L HEMI engine which could boost its proposed 575 horsepower to an impressive 707 horsepower.

  4. Forza Horizon 4 Vision: Even though consumers can't expect to see an accurate rendering or physical model of the Ram 1500 Rebel TRX for a few years, that hasn't stopped Forza Horizon 4--an open world racing video game--from releasing a concept of the truck. If you're like us and can't wait to see what the Rebel TRX will look like (and possibly drive like), consider viewing it in the Fortune Island expansion pack of the game.
