The Jeep Cherokee Has a Refreshed Look and a New Engine Option for 2019

The Jeep Cherokee got a facelift for 2019! But it's actually more of a return to the pre-2014 look. The front end has conventional headlights again, and the traditional Jeep seven-slot grille is integrated into its hood. The side hasn't changed much, but the rear gets a minor makeover with some new taillights and a new, lighter tailgate that reduces the weight of the new Cherokee by 17 pounds. Premium LED headlamps and fog lamps are now standard for added safety and security, while wider distinctive daytime running lamps give the front end a bolder look.

A new engine has been added to the Jeep Cherokee lineup for 2019. Its new Alfa Romeo-derived turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine cranks out 270 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. Front-wheel drive is standard, but there are three optional all-wheel-drive systems, including:

  • Jeep Active Drive I for regular all-wheel drive
  • Active Drive II, which includes a low-range gear
  • Active Drive Lock for the Trailhawk only that adds an electronic locking rear differential
Inside, the 2019 Jeep Cherokee boasts upgraded materials, with nicer bezels and trim pieces, and an updated multimedia system and gauge cluster. Two new color themes are available, depending on which trim level you choose. The Overland model is available with contrasting seat colors. Cargo space has increased, going from 24.6 cubic feet to 27 cubic feet thanks to some panel design improvement. The new Jeep Cherokee is also safer, with added standard and available safety features, including parallel/perpendicular parking assist, forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring with cross-traffic detection, and a backup camera. The 2019 Jeep Cherokee looks better, runs better, and its safer. Visit Chapman's Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram and test drive one today.
